My First Cheese Cake

Yeah, you didn’t hear me wrong. It is my first cheese cake.
During the last Chinese New Year, I want to show off to my mom that I’m able to bake too. So I volunteer myself to make the cheese cake for Chinese New Year.

I quickly ask Christine and search the net for all the recipes and steps.
After I had all the information, I went to shop for all the ingredient. Believe me, in a small town like Sarikei, it's really hard to find all these stuff, especially the cream cheese.

Here are the stuffs I bought,
  1. 2x 250 gm cheeses (recommend using Philadelphia cream cheese)
  2. Few pieces of Marie biscuit (> 5)
  3. Butter
  4. Gelatin
  5. 400g sweetened condensed milk
  6. 1/2 cup lemon juice
After that, I start to make the cheese cake based on the steps I get from the net.
First, I crumble the Marie biscuit into very small crumbs. Then, melt the butter (around 1/2 cup) and mix it with the crushed biscuit.

Stir it and make sure they are fully combined because we need the butter to hold the crushed biscuit together. Then press the crust mixture into the bottom of the pan.

Then I start working on the cream cheese. I had to melt the cream cheese at room temperature. (I put it under the sun because if not, it take very long time to melt)
Then I mixed the melted cream cheese with the 1/2 cup of lemon juice, condensed milk and Gelatin (2 tablespoon Gelatin dissolve in 1/4 cup boiling water).

I then beat/blend it with an electric mixer until the mixture turns smooth. When it is smooth enough, pour it on top of the biscuits layer in the pan.

Finally, I put in the freezer for few hours the cheese is hard enough. And I go take a nap.

Then after a few hours, Voila!! My first ever cheese cake.

This is upside down, the biscuit layer should be at the bottom.

It doesn't look good but taste OK for me. = p

If I can do it, I believe everyone can do it.
